Sports Rehabilitation

Exercise is the key component to sport injury rehabilitation and prevention.  Proper exercise prescription is given after a thorough evaluation of joints, muscles, and neuromuscular control of the two.

The initial components of sports rehab are pain and swelling reduction needed to exercise.  Complete range of motion is needed to perform a sport and is achieved through specific stretches and hands on stretching.

Specific strength must be achieved for various muscle groups that produce movement (agonists) and control movement (antagonists).  General cardiovascular conditioning provides the basis for sport performance.  The explosive and endurance systems must be conditioned to provide superior performance.

Finally neuromuscular control must be achieved for superior performance.  Stability exercises will give you the balance and base to control movement efficiently.
